[BEGIN Intertemporal Message]

My Jules. Still with ink and paper I see. Sending this via neural uplink to the ITN. Efficient, but lacking in the poetry of your world. Whatever the medium, the message is identical: I miss you too. I reach for you across the void.

Things here are as fractured, neon-bright, and relentless as ever. The hum of drones, the city pulse that never stops, coded rhythms and fractured voices. It’s hard, yes, but it’s mine. My people are here, and even in the chaos we find ways to feel joy. I know my time scares you—the pace, the noise, the way everything shifts before your eyes. I struggle with your time; my neural interface offline, no data retrieval, no way to pull the stars closer with a simple thought. But I would bear it for one more hour beside you, watching that river, so much water moving in that slow, deliberate way I can never seem to match.

Before I forget: a message arrived. An invite to an event…early 21st century I think. No details yet. I’m hoping we can meet there—I’m already calculating the portal sequence. Some guesswork but I’m getting there. Maybe, just maybe, we can find a way to steal more than just a moment from time.

Stay, as always, tethered to me.

Nyx
